They're at the Post!

Quarter Horse Racing Season started again on Sunday, May 11th at Ajax Downs. My friends Greg & Susan Watson of Full Circle Racing had 5 entries and a very successful start to their season. Two firsts, two seconds and a fourth!!!

I had the pleasure of spending the day on Saturday with Sue, bathing and grooming these incredible athletes, enjoying every minute of the excitement and anticipation of the day to come. I swear these animals know exactly what is coming and they can hardly contain their exuberance.

Greg & Sue's daughter Stephanie Brown Keeble and her husband Tom have purchased their first race horse...Money's Up...who finished 2nd for her first time running in Canada. Yeah!!!!!!!!! Money's Jockey Ramone, carried on a family tradition and wore the silks Steph's grandfather wore many many years ago. Big huge silk covered buttons...gave me goosebumps! So cool!!!

More Bellies and Babies

Lots of new babies arriving this spring and summer, hence lots of new mommys and daddys doing Maternity sessions. Images to look back on and treasure of this very special time in their lives.

Last weekend I had the opportunity to photograph a maternity session for Ryan & Sheena and their little boy while they wait for their new baby due in May.

I am photographing their wedding in August so this was a perfect opportunity for us to work together before their Big Day.

Such a fun couple and beautiful family!

Melanie & Jason's New Edition

She's here! Born on Saturday, April 26th (a day early) at around 3:20 p.m. weighing in at 7lbs. 4oz. I'm not 100% sure of her name yet, so I will leave that out.
Can't wait to meet her.

Belly Laughs for Mel & Jay

What a busy time I've had over the past couple of weeks. Over the last two weekends I did my very first model shoot. Exciting, tons of fun and great results. Unfortunately, I am unable to post any of images from the session at the moment, as they maybe used by the stylist as entries in a competition.

This weekend I had 2 sessions....one Maternity Session and a Newborn Session. The Maternity Session was for a couple I've known for many years. Melanie & Jason are about to add a new addition to their family...a baby girl due on April 27th. A new little sister for Denver. Just a few more weeks! It was such an honour to photograph this special time as I have known Melanie since she was a little girl. Growing up she spent countless hours at my home and enjoyed many weekend sleepovers with my daughter. Now she is having a little girl of her own.
I'll look forward to meeting your new little one and to her first photo session! She'll be here before you know it!
Over the next couple of days I will post some images from the newborn session I photographed today.

For All the Horse Lovers!

Next to photography, horses are my other passion. I feel very fortunate to have spent 11 years of my life with the one of the most incredible horses...St. Moritz (or Ritzi as he was better known). He was a good friend, a wonderful teacher and a constant companion to my daughter during their competition years and then to me later when he semi-retired.
The bond between horse and rider is unparalleled and not understood by everyone.

Two very good friends of mine and fellow photographers, Christina Handley and Laura Cotterman have just released their first DVD called Simply...Horses A Connection through the lens. An amazing story of horses captured through their incredible photography. Check it out at:
